Weather Permitting is part of the Alaska Wildland Adventures (AWA) family of companies and provides professional water taxi services and sightseeing tours out of Seward, Alaska. Since 1977, AWA has been providing premium tours in some of Alaska’s most spectacular wild places, including around Seward, Resurrection Bay and Kenai Fjords National Park.
Several vessels make up Weather Permitting’s fleet of boats, each serving a different primary purpose but also versatile and adaptable, giving us flexibility to best serve our customers and partners. Our fleet is captained by a very knowledgeable team who have been running vessels in the waters of the Kenai fjords and surrounding area for many years. Our deckhands are also experienced on the water and are trained one-on-one with our captains, ensuring an amazing crew for your boat trip with us.
The M/V Wild Lander is our dedicated boat for passage to Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge in the heart of Aialik Fjord. It is a jet drive catamaran landing craft which boasts two 600 horsepower diesel engines, allowing us to operate and provide safe travel daily for our guests moving to and from the Glacier Lodge. This custom-built watercraft is 45 feet long with a 17.5’ beam that brings a maximum amount of comfort and stability to all on board.
The Wild Lander was specifically designed with passenger comfort in mind, for a balanced, smooth ride as well as plenty of space for stowing gear. It has covered and closed indoor seating available for 21, with space on the aft deck to seat 6 more. The stability of this boat allows easy movement for passengers from the aft, through the cabin, and to the front deck for enhanced wildlife viewing experiences, along with many covered angles to get the perfect photo of the stunning landscape and any sea life we encounter. Sit indoors and enjoy a cup of complimentary coffee or tea, or lounge on the covered outdoor deck on a warm summer day. The Wild Lander also has ample space to transport luggage and supplies by utilizing the hulls to keep suitcases out from under foot, and safe and dry for the journey.
For groups of up to 28 guests, we offer exclusive, small boat tour charters inside Kenai Fjords National Park, with the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular sightseeing of glaciers and marine wildlife.
