Stress-Free Cancellation Policy
Effective March 2020, we’re implementing a Stress-Free Cancellation Policy so that you may reserve your 2020 trip with us with confidence.
While COVID-19 is an unprecedented event in our 42 year history operating Alaska tours, one thing we know for sure is this: a trip to Alaska can be restorative to the soul and refreshing for the spirit. We are here for you when it’s time for unique and invigorating experiences with Wild Alaska. We will also be continuing to monitor the situation as it evolves, to have ongoing conversations with our Alaska travel partners, and to continue to do all we can to operate responsibly through the months ahead.
Our cancellation policies go into effect at the time of booking and upon receipt of deposit. Written cancellations and changes must be received in our reservations office to be valid. Once your scheduled departure commences, our trips run rain or shine, and non-appearance for program will result in no refund.
If the cancellation or change occurs, the per person fee is the lesser of:
|30+ days prior to departure:||No cancellation penalty|
|29 to 15 days:||25% of total trip cost|
|Within 14 days:||100% of total trip cost|
Please note that the Stress-Free Cancellation Policy applies to your Alaska Wildland Adventures trip only; we encourage you to work with your selected airfare provider to learn their terms. We also highly recommend the purchase of Travel Protection as soon as possible after you make your deposit.
All trip prices noted in our catalog are based on double occupancy. Taxes and seasonal fuel surcharges, when applicable, are not included in trip price and are subject to change prior to trip departure. We accept checks, MasterCard, Visa and Discover.
|Payment Schedule:||Amount Due per Person:|
|121+ days prior to departure:||$1,000 or 50% of trip total, whichever is less|
|120 to 61 days:||50% of total|
|Within 60 days:||100% of total|
For Alaska Trip Add-Ons, additional deposits will apply in accordance with the specific Trip Add-On and operator. These deposit terms will be explained at the time of booking.
Reservations made within 60 days must be guaranteed with MasterCard, Visa or Discover. Late payments may result in releasing your reservation and rebooking will be subject to availability. Cancellation fees will apply.
Upon receipt of your initial deposit, we will send you written confirmation, trip planning materials and a travel insurance application. We recommend that you purchase travel insurance.
No refunds will be made on individual features, transfers or sightseeing voluntarily omitted by the participant. No refunds for unused services will be issued. Our tours operate rain or shine; see our Notes About Weather for more details. Refunds for cancelled flights or any services reserved outside of Alaska Wildland Adventures will be made in accordance with the rules of the carrier.
We recommend that you purchase a travel protection plan to help protect you and your travel investment against the unexpected. Travel protection plans can include coverage for Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Emergency Medical and Emergency Evacuation/Repatriation, Trip Delay, Baggage Delay and more.
A Note About Occupancy
In addition to our standard double occupancy, we also offer solo supplement, triple and quad pricing options for our Alaska adventure vacations. Requested solo accommodations, when available, are subject to a solo supplement fee; however, for a solo traveler interested in sharing accommodations with another same sex traveler, we will make every effort to pair you, and the solo supplement fee will be waived. Occasionally, pairing is not possible and a "forced solo" rate will apply during the Alaska vacation. If you are a solo traveler and you'd like to experience an Alaska vacation with Alaska Wildland Adventures, we will do all we can to have you join us!
A Note About Weather
Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge is located in pristine, remote Alaskan wilderness and is only accessible by boat. In rare circumstances, due to high winds, weather fronts or ocean conditions, we are unable to access the lodge at scheduled times. Alternative activities and accommodations have been planned for this uncommon occurrence and will be discussed with you when you check in at our Seward office if necessary.
Important Disclosures for Our Guests
Alaska Wildland Adventures owns and operates the Kenai Backcountry Lodge, the Kenai Riverside Lodge, the Kenai Riverside Fishing Program, and the Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge. It does not control certain other third-party entities which may provide goods and services for your trip, including, for example, air or other transportation companies, other lodging facilities, food service providers, and equipment suppliers. The costs and scheduling of travel, accommodations, and associated services, unless otherwise specified, are the responsibility of our guests, and any delays, cancellations, or other travel alterations affecting a guest’s AWA itinerary will be the sole responsibility of the guest. Alaska Wildland Adventures will not assume any additional costs and shall not be liable for any delay, damage, injury, death, or loss of any kind whatsoever due to the acts, omissions, or negligence of any third-party service or transportation providers.
A copy of our Participant Agreement and Guest Information Form will be supplied to each visitor shortly during the reservation process, and these forms must be completed and returned to our office in advance of the trip.
AWA reserves the sole discretion and right to adjust pricing, programs, scheduled dates, and itineraries in the event certain conditions outside of its control threaten the health, security, and safety of its employees, guests, or property, including those caused by ‘force majeure’ events (including but not limited to war, acts of terrorism, pandemics and epidemics, civil strife, labor conflicts, and natural disasters), changes to national or global economic environments, acts of governmental authorities, and any other conditions resulting in the frustration, impracticability, or impossibility of undertaking AWA activities. In the event of a cancellation or major itinerary change due to such events, AWA will best assess the amount of available refund or credit toward a future trip with AWA. If a trip is cancelled in progress, the tour operator will best attempt to prorate a refund based on the number of days not complete. In any case, AWA cannot guarantee any refund amount due to cancellations beyond our control and strongly recommends that all guests purchase travel insurance.
Alaska Wildland Adventures has a strict "No Unmanned Aircraft or Drone" policy, similar to that of the National Park Service. This policy supports our guiding principles and respects wildlife and the wilderness areas we visit. AWA may make exceptions to this policy from time to time for its short promotional productions where compliant with regulations.
This policy covers how Alaska Wildland Adventures (AWA) treats personal information that AWA collects and receives via email, our website, customer responses to our promotions and via phone inquiries.
