The Winterlake Lodge lies 198 trail miles northwest of Anchorage along Alaska's historic Iditarod Trail. The lodge sits on 15 acres overlooking Winter Lake, a finger-shaped 2-mile lake where you'll land by ski plane after a dramatic 50-mile flight. Named one of America's best lodges by Travel and Leisure Magazine, Winterlake is a remote, rustic Alaskan lodge located in a private, pristine setting along the western edge of the Alaska Range.
Activities at the lodge include sled dog tours and instructions on driving your own team, cross country ski excursions, snowshoe expeditions and exploratory trips through Rainy Pass. Comfortable log cabins and a cozy main lodge offer the perfect setting for a romantic weekend.
Join Kirsten in the kitchen for an impromptu wine tasting or cooking class, or simply sit by the woodstove and enjoy our extensive Alaskan book collection.
These fully guided packages originate from Anchorage. You can choose from adventure activities such as dog mushing, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling. Instruction is offered in all theses activities for beginners and there are trails that suit beginners and experts alike.
