At six million acres, Denali National Park is larger than Massachusetts and is well know for its diversity of wildlife, flora, fauna, and pristine habitat. The park is home to Mt. McKinley, otherwise known as Denali, an Athabaskan Indian name meaning the "The High One," and is the highest peak in North America at 20,320 ft. The region's glaciated landscape consists of alpine tundra and taiga forest and supports a grand array of wildlife including grizzly bears, caribou, Dall sheep, moose, golden eagles, and wolves. The park is renowned for its magnificent vistas and the sought after vision of stunning Mt. McKinley, referred to by locals as "Denali," its native Athabaskan name.

For most Denali visitors, the only access to Denali National Park is by shuttle bus. As an Alaska Wildland Adventures guest, you will travel on a private bus to the end of the 95-mile road while enjoying a narrated wildlife search en route to a Kantishna-area lodge, nestled in the heart of the park. Here you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of guided hikes to fit your pace, naturalist programs, gold panning, fishing, flightseeing (optional) and photographic opportunities. Steeped in gold mining and mountaineering history, this region will be sure to educate as well as astound.

Several of our Alaska Vacation and Adventure Packages include opportunities to explore Denali National Park. Visit our Alaska vacations section for details.
