Arctic Ocean Adventure
 
Travel to the shores of the Arctic Ocean along the rugged and extremely remote Dalton Highway to Prudhoe Bay. You will make several crossings along the way: the Yukon River; the Arctic Circle; and the Brooks Mountain range. There are many opportunities for wildlife sightings including grizzly bears, caribou, and the unique musk ox. Arrive at the Arctic Ocean, and tour the start of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. Round trip from Fairbanks.

Arctic Ocean Adventures

Arctic Ocean Adventure - Northbound
A 3-day Round Trip Journey by Land & Air to Alaska's Arctic Circle.

Day 1:
Depart Fairbanks at approximately 8:00 a.m. Ground tour north in the personalized comfort of tour vans. Visit the Arctic Circle Trading Post situated in the rural community of Joy, Alaska. Travel on the rugged Dalton Highway made famous during construction of the Trans Alaska Pipeline. Marvel at the majestic beauty of the the Yukon River, the northland's most famous waterway, and learn of the river's storied past. Cross over the Arctic Circle in ceremonious fashion and receive an official Arctic Circle Adventure Certificate. Overnight at rustic Coldfoot nestled in the Brooks Mountain Range.

Day 2:
Visit the historic goldmining community of Wiseman. Pass through the majestic Brooks Mountain Range and cross over the Continental Divide at Atigun Pass. Explore up close the amazing arctic tundra of the Arctic Coastal Plain and feel the veins of ice just beneath the surface. Overnight at Prudhoe Bay.

Day 3:
Visit the Prudhoe Bay oil fields and complete the journey by dipping your toe in the frigid waters of the Arctic Ocean. Fly back to Fairbanks, arriving between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. -OR- visit the Inupiat Eskimo village of Barrow (see below).

Arctic Ocean Adventure - Northbound with Barrow Extension
A 4-day Round Trip Journey by Land & Air to Alaska's Arctic Circle and a day in Barrow.

Days 1 - 3:
Itinerary is the same as above, with the addition of Day 4. Instead of returning to Fairbanks on Day 3, fly from Prudhoe Bay to the Inupiat Eskimo village of Barrow. Overnight in Barrow and enjoy the midnight sun.

Day 4:
Get a firsthand glimpse of the lifestyle of Alaska's Arctic Coastal people with a tour of the village. Meet the Inupiat Eskimo people while enjoying a cultural program featuring ceremonial song and dance, traditional games, and demonstration of local native crafts. Walk the shores of the Arctic Ocean near the northernmost point in North America. Return by air to Fairbanks, arriving at approximately 8:40 p.m. on Day 4.

For solo on Arctic Ocean Adventure, add $140 to cost of double.
For solo on Arctic Ocean Adventure with Barrow extension, add $190 to cost of double.

*Trip price includes guided ground tour, overnight accommodations, air transportation from Prudhoe Bay to Fairbanks, and snacks/beverages. Trip price does not include meals (average cost per meal is $15-$20), beer, wine, or liquor, or gratuities to staff.
